Inspiration for the theme:
In an effort to expand the world of lanyards, I want participants to release their inner designer to come up with something unique, wearable, and totally outrageous!! While keychains are technically wearable, I’m looking for more! Accessories, jewelry, gloves or whatever else that could be considered fashion! Blow us away!!

“A traditional piece of masculine formal wear made from lanyard! The pattern and colors are based off of traditional paisley patterns, which are fairly common in neckties. The edge is made of a modified brick stitch, while the paisleys themselves are made primarily of a rattlesnake stitch. Wires help maintain the overall shape.
I greatly enjoyed the project, as well as the other wonderful creations that came from this competition! It’s been an incredible chance to see people’s passion and creativity. Let’s all keep pushing the boundaries of what lanyards can make!”

“Hey! Where’s Perry?
I got the idea to make Perry the Platypus from a friend but the hat eventually took on a life of its own. It manages to personify anything it’s placed on. For both Perry and the hat, the tricky part was getting the amount of detail I wanted in there. By using the black hat band and the weird stitches I used for the platypus tail, I was able to achieve the level of detail I was going after. I hope it’s inspirational!”
